about

I have written and produced many songs for very different artists. But I couldn’t come up with something for myself for quite a while. Makes a big difference if you’re making up a story or if you really want to write about yourself, who you truly are, what keeps you up at night and who you want to be.

I was struggling to deal with myself on that personal level. Being in the learning process I got hit by a crisis in the past year which felt like I got hit by a truck. A bunch of emotions I couldn’t bring in order resulted in a kinda frail state of mind. I noticed that the relationship with one of my closest friends startet to feel different and at first I had no idea what was going on. Suddenly the most natural things in the world, like a simple hug, didn’t feel right anymore.

It took me weeks to understand what it was and sort things out. To admit a painful truth is one thing, to say it out loud a whole other. On the low point I got to talk to him and we cleared the air. Someone to help you through the most difficult times in your life, to hold on to you, to tell you „It’s gonna be alright“, is not just a friend but a brother.

I got back up on my feet and there were notes and words again inside my heart which had to be put out. With the studio illuminated in neon lights, the vision for a fresh start came to life and I started writing again. Always had been an 80s kid and probably always will be.

lyrics

Verse 1
Driving around after midnight
Trying to figure out the chaos
That is inside my mind

Thinking about what it is
What I feel and why your
picture‘s coming up all the time

And suddenly a part of me
Starts to feel different

Chorus
I am a total mess right now
Lying here in your arms and you’re
Whispering to me „it’s gonna be alright“
And tears stream down my face
As I’m confessing the truth
Oh brother I’m sorry
I didn’t mean to hurt you
Oh Brother I’m sorry
I didn’t mean to hurt you too

Verse 2
Saying hello, open arms
Wanna hug you but there’s
Something holding me back inside

Being around you has been
The most natural thing but
Now it doesn’t seem right

I say it loud and the weight on me
Starts to fall to the ground

Last Chorus
I am a total mess right now
Lying here in your arms and you’re
Whispering to me „it’s gonna be alright“
And tears stream down my face
As I’m confessing the truth
Oh brother I’m sorry
I didn’t mean to hurt you
Oh Brother I’m sorry
I might be in love with.
